Introduced to celebrate Ferrari's 16th Formula 1 Championship, the Scuderia Spider 16M was limited to just 499 units and was a significantly upgraded version of the F430, mirroring most of the changes that the Scuderia received over the F430 Coupe. One of the primary focuses of the changes was reduce weight, and indeed the 16M weighs approximately 175 pounds less than standard car thanks to extensive use of carbon fiber, lighter wheels, ceramic brakes, lighter bumpers and lightweight carbon fiber seats. The brakes were enlarged and the engine revised to increase power to 510hp thanks to revised intake and exhaust systems. The transmission was also revised to provide faster shifts.
This particular example was well optioned with tricolore stripe, carbon fiber side sills, aluminum colored brake calipers, large carbon fiber racing seats, rosso technical fiber seat inserts, rosso special stitching, iPod touch, fire extinguisher, and white tachometer. The car has covered just 2,800 miles from new and was purchased by the current owner with 715 miles in 2017 from Ferrari of San Francisco, who has maintained it since. It received a new gearbox accumulator in July 2018, in addition to a 30k service and new tires at the same time, 600 miles ago. The car comes with service records as well as original books, tools, and car cover.
