Introduced in 2014 as the 911 variant between the GT3 and the Carrera S, the GTS offered enthusiastic Porsche drivers a car that has had a cult following since its introuction on the 997 model. Offered standard with PASM and the Sports Chrono package the 991 GTS became rapidly a hit among those drivers wanting to take their driving machine long distances.
With 430 horsepower on tap produced from the 3.8 litre naturally aspirated flat six engine, the sporting GTS version was a favourite of those enthusiastic drivers who were looking a notch up in performance over the regular Carrera but with not the track-day focus of the GT3 and GT3RS models. Offered in both two and four wheel drive, available both as a coupé and as a cabriolet and equipped with a 7 speed manual as standard, the GTS was perhaps the most balanced package Porsche offered up to that point. The wide Carrera 4 body ensured an aggressive look, the standard PASM suspensions and Sport Chrono pack made the GTS an attractive 911.
