Introduced by Romano Artioli in September 1995 and named after his niece, the Lotus Elise was built following the quintessential Colin Chapman’s principles of lightness, creating a new standard for sports cars that still endures 25 years later. At a time when the only car offered by Lotus was the 3,000 pound turbocharged V8 Esprit whose platform dated to the mid 70s, the Elise served as a forceful reiteration of the core philosophy that defined the golden years of Lotus.
While the Elise range grew with many and more powerful versions, the Elise Sport retains the purity of concept of the famous lightweight roadster, with its naturally aspirated 136hp engine and 866 kg total weight. This particular car is a single owner example, bought in 2019 and finished in Solid Yellow. Always well maintained and never used on track, it has covered 18.000 km and is in exceptionally nice condition. It comes with service records as well as original books and tools.
