1996 Porsche 993 Carrera RS

1996 Porsche 993 Carrera RS

Extremely Clean 44,000 km RoW 993 Carrera RS, Among the Best-Driving 911s of All Time.

The 993 RS represents the pinnacle of the air-cooled, driver-focused 911. Picking up where the now legendary 964 RS left off, the 993's performance was enhanced over that of the 964 by expansion of the engine to 3.8 liters and the fitment of a 6-speed gearbox. Like the 964 RS, the 993 RS was thoroughly but subtly re-engineered to transform the comparatively civilized Carrera into a lively, effervescent embodiment of everything that driving enthusiasts revere the 911 for.

In addition to the powertrain changes, the chassis, body, and exterior were also revised. The seam-welded chassis had less soundproofing while the suspension was uprated and Turbo brakes fitted. A unique rear wing, enlarged wheels, and revised rocker panels and front bumper distinguished the car from the outside, while inside Recaro bucket seats were fitted along with simplified door panels. The rear seats were also deleted.

This particular example was sold new in Japan, where it was used sparingly before being imported to the United States in 2016.
