About Kindred Motorworks
Kindred Motorworks blends timeless vintage charm with modern efficiency and engineering precision—reimagining classic cars into reliable, drive-ready vehicles for today’s road.
Founder
Rob Howard, an engineer and technologist, founded Kindred Motorworks after years of deep-dive restorations. He combined his background in software, supply chain, and operations with a passion for vintage cars—and developed the proprietary “Blueprint” process to restore and electrify vehicles more efficiently and with greater consistency.
Mission
Kindred’s goal is to modernize vintage vehicles—bringing back their joy and nostalgia—with today’s reliability, safety, and performance improvements. Through thoughtful integration of engineering, craftsmanship, and storytelling, they deliver a “new vintage” driving experience, reflecting their belief that these machines should be driven, not merely admired.
History
Since launching with a tech-enabled restoration model, Kindred has grown into a scale-minded boutique automaker. Operating out of its Mare Island facility, the company meticulously blueprints each vehicle, enabling efficient production of both gas and electric restomods—from Broncos to VW buses—with a commitment to both authenticity and modern usability.
