1994 Mazda RX-7
Sold
The Mazda RX-7 had always filled a unique niche in the sports car landscape, being the only vehicle for sale in the United States with a Wankel Rotary engine allowed the RX-7 to be lighter and higher revving than many of its competitors. This was always combined with standout styling and driving dynamics and created a vehicle that was beloved by enthusiasts. In 1992, Mazda released the third generation of their RX-7 known by the chassis code FD which built on these characteristics while substantially improving performance thanks to a highly specialized sequential twin-turbocharger system. Utilizing two turbochargers of varying sizes, the goal was to give the notoriously peaky rotary engine a flatter powerband- with the first turbocharger spooling up at 1,800rpm to provide torque, the second would then come in above 4,500rpm and provide power up to redline. Producing 237 horsepower at 6,500rpm, the RX-7 was able to accelerate from 0-60mph in 5.4 seconds and on to a top speed of 156mph.
This 1994 RX-7 is painted in a fantastic shade of Vintage Red over a black leather interior. Optioned with the “Touring” package, this RX-7 was outfitted with cruise control, a large glass sunroof, Bose Acoustic Wave stereo system with a CD player and rear window wiper. Showing just 40,430 miles from new, this car has been exceptionally cared for throughout its life and has had just one owner from new. Mechanically, the car is in very good shape for its age and the exterior shows only minor signs of having been driven over the last 26 years. Included with the sale is a full set of factory books and manuals, factory locking wheel nuts, the original tool kit as well as the jack and spare tire.
