Significance

After 5 years of success selling the FF luxury grand touring car, Ferrari was ready to update the model with new styling and some modernized technology they had developed in the interim. At the 2016 Geneva Motor Show, they debuted the FF successor called the GTC4Lusso- named after two of Ferrari’s most beloved grand touring cars. The GTC4Lusso is based on the FF’s shooting brake-style bodywork but with numerous styling cues from the 812 Superfast like the Ferrari signature dual-round tail lights and more aggressive angles at both the front and rear. The following year, Ferrari brought out a companion to the GTC4Lusso known as the GTC4Lusso T- with the same exterior appearance, the biggest change for the GTC4Lusso T was the addition of the twin-turbocharged V8 out of the Portofino and the deletion of the V12 car’s all-wheel-drive system.

About this vehicle

This 2019 GTC4Lusso T is a beautiful car, finished in one of Ferrari’s best colors Blu Tour de France, over a Nero leather interior, and shows just 558 miles from new. The understated color choice suits this grand touring car fantastically and is enhanced by a set of yellow Scuderia Shields on the fenders and bright yellow brake calipers which add some nice contrast. A set of intricate 20” split-5-spoke forged wheels look great in silver and do a great job of tying the car together as a cohesive design. Although there are disputes on if the GTC4Lusso or FF is better looking, it is hard to ignore that the GTC4Lusso is a more muscular design with its more squared-off rear arches and almost fastback-like roofline.

On the inside of the GTC4Lusso is where the changes from the FF are the most apparent. The elegant leather-wrapped dashboard is known as a “Dual Cockpit Design” accentuated by the large center console and flowing aluminum trim. A very nicely integrated center infotainment screen is large and allows both the driver and passenger, control over things like HVAC and stereo controls. The interior has been nicely optioned with Alcantara seat inserts and both front seats feature heating and ventilation for maximum comfort on long drives. A carbon fiber steering wheel with LED shift lights along the top of the rim has also been specified which is one of the most sought-after options in any modern Ferrari.

Powering the GTC4Lusso T is a 3.8-liter V8 that produces 602 horsepower and 561 lb-ft or torque, giving the car a 0-60 mph acceleration time of just 3.5 seconds and a top speed of almost 200 mph. This power is sent to the rear wheels through a 7-speed DCT gearbox with large aluminum paddle shifters mounted on the steering column. Although the V8 car loses the V12’s all-wheel-drive system, it does retain Ferrari’s new 4WS system that steers the rear axle, allowing for both more maneuverability in tight parking lots and greater high-speed stability on the highway.

Ferrari announced in 2020 that the GTC4Lusso line would be going out of production and at this time, there is no replacement in sight. This example is presented in nearly brand-new condition with less than 600 miles on the odometer and has been optioned in one of the most appealing color combinations.
