2004 Maserati Gransport Light GT3

One of the most desirable Maserati racing cars of the last 20 years. The Ex Merzario, Larini, Nannini and Montermini Gransport Trofeo

Taking full ownership of Fiat in 1993, Maserati was able to benefit from the extraordinary Ferrari V8 engine (4,244 cm3) for the launch of its new 4200GT “Coupé”. The Trofeo, launched in 2003 and derived from the 4200 GT, is a car destined exclusively for racing and in particular for the “Trofeo Maserati” single-make championship. Almost 250 kg lighter than a road going 4200 GT, the Trofeo boasted a total of 413 HP, which were obtained thanks to the use of an all-new engine management and a dedicated exhaust system. In 2005, new modifications were introduced for possible participation in the FIA GT championships. Developed by the racing department and built in collaboration with Italtecnica, the Maserati Gransport Trofeo Light is a lighter and faster variant than the "Trofeo" single make model.

This specific car is one of only two examples produced which is equipped with a Sedav straight-cut gears transmission. It has been completely serviced and it's in race-ready conditions. Its history shows an impressive pedigree as it has been driven in period by 4 formula one drivers such as Arturo Merzario, Alessandro Nannini, Andrea Montermini and Nicola Larini.
