Significance
In 1993, Ferrari introduced the highly successful Ferrari Challenge single-make championship, which was intended to offer the Marque's most sporty client a championship where they could race and compete against each other. The first two cars which competed in this series, the 348 and 355 were by all means production-based road-legal cars which were modified at dealers with a dedicated kit supplied by Ferrari.
With the introduction of the 360 Modena in 1999, the challenge version was produced directly by the Prancing Horse racing department, resulting in a fun, fast and incredibly attractive racing car. Wanting to offer an even more track-focused variant of the 360, Ferrari introduced the Challenge Stradale, which was a lightweight and more powerful variant based on the production coupe. Its atmospheric V8 engine was modified to obtain 425 hp, and its F1 style transmission was also tweaked to have faster gear changes.
Ferrari produced around 1300 examples of the Challenge Stradale and it has since then become a highly sought after Ferrari for all those collectors wanting to experience the thrill of a proper and analogue driving experience.
