Significance

Introduced as the flagship of the Ferrari line, the Maranello replaced a long line of mid-engined cars that began with the Berlinetta Boxer and was continued by the Testarossa. Meant to recapture the glory days of Ferrari’s legendary front-engined sports cars (most notably the 275 GTB and 365 GTB/4 Daytona), the Maranello is an indisputably beautiful car. The Pininfarina styling is masculine and muscular without being overstated or excessively macho, and the proportions are spot-on. Originally introduced as the 550, the 575 replaced it in 2002, and brought a host of improvements in terms of styling and on the mechanical side as well. These included increasing the power 30 hp to 515 hp, larger brakes, improved aerodynamics, and many other minor changes.

About this vehicle

This particular car is an extremely clean 9,300 mile example which was sold new at Foreign Cars Italia in Greensboro, North Carolina. It remained in North Carolina for the first eight years of its life before being relocated to Arizona briefly and then Northern California for the last eight years. During that time, the car was used by Ferrari to display at The Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance at their 70th anniversary celebration in 2016. The car is uniquely equipped with a black interior with tan Daytona seat inserts and stitching. It also has the Fiorano handling package, electric seats, Scuderia shields, red brake calipers, lower dash, central tunnel, and door panels in beige leather, beige leather headliner, chrome front grill, and Tubi mufflers. The interior stickies have been rectified and its last belt service was recently performed by Ferrari of Silicon Valley. It comes with books, tools, compressor, and Ferrari car cover.
