Significance

The second model developed in its entirety by AMG after the SLS, the AMG GT is a marked departure from the cars Mercedes typically fields. A quick review of the car’s specifications confirms that it’s exactly the type of car to get enthusiasts excited: rear wheel drive, front-mid engine, transaxle dual clutch at the back of the car, aluminum chassis, 1.06g of lateral acceleration, and 0-60 mph in about 3.5 seconds.
