Significance

The Porsche GT3 has always been the track day special of the 911 lineup- reduced weight, improved braking, more power, and a more extreme aerodynamics package were the hallmarks of the GT3 series of cars. But Porsche knew that there were enthusiasts who wanted all of the improvements that came with a GT3, but they were not particularly interested in the large rear wing that had always been found on the model. For the 991.2 generation of 911, Porsche debuted the GT3 Touring- a car that checked every box from the GT3, but was only available with a manual transmission and did away with the rear wing. Once it went on sale, the GT3 Touring became one of the most sought-after cars in Porsche’s lineup at the time and was commanding massive premiums on the secondhand market. Naturally, after finding the car to be such a success, they had a new GT3 Touring ready to go when the 992 GT3 debuted in 2021. As with the previous version, the fixed rear wing is replaced by an automatically deploying version like that found on the standard Carreras but unlike the 991 version, the 992 GT3 Touring is available with either a manual or 7-speed PDK gearbox. The engine remains the same as the previous GT3 with a series of upgrades so that it now produces 502 horsepower and 346 lb-ft of torque while still revving to a stratospheric 9,000 RPM. Although the GT3 was never a car built to put down the fastest acceleration numbers in the 911 lineup, the 992 variant can still achieve a 0-60 mph time of 3.4 seconds and will keep on pulling to a top speed of over 190 mph.

The exterior paint is a fairly recent addition to the Porsche color palette and really looks outstanding on all of their cars- a gorgeous medium blue, it stands out more than gray, silver, or black but is quite subdued until the sun hits it. The black leather interior features the coveted 18-way adjustable sport seats with GT Silver stitching and fabric seat centers and the headliner has been finished in the same “Race-Tex” fabric as the middle of the seats. This GT3 Touring was specified with the 7-Speed PDK double-clutch gearbox which makes it the perfect sports car to drive every day or take to the track where it will pull off the perfect shift every time. If you choose to use this car on your daily commute, the front axle lifter has been selected to help you get into steep driveways and over speed bumps without having to worry about scraping the underside of the vehicle.
