Significance
"Ultimate" could be the only word that springs into mind when thinking about the Pagani Huayra BC. A strictly limited, twin-turbo V12, all carbon-fibre track focused supercar that was conceived to be the most extreme variant of the already excellent Huayra. Dedicated to Horacio Pagani's friend, Benny Caiola, the BC was a concentrate of technology and top-notch components that were able to set a new standard in the world of hypercars.
When it was unveiled in 2016, the BC was the result of years of development and fine-tuning. At that time, Pagani set to create the lightest homologated supercar and it remarkably achieved so by a careful re-designing of every component and using the most advanced materials available.
Featuring a new XTrac-developed 7-speed automated manual transmission with bespoke electro-hydraulic actuation system, dedicated carbon fibre synchronizers and a new management software, the BC delivered shifts with more precision and aggression over a standard Huayra. With a 40% less weight over a standard dual-clutch unit, the BC's XTrac transmission reduces the inertia and allows for a more stable and reactive rear-end. Equipped with the forged tripod Hiforg axle drive shafts, a neat feature coming from the world of Endurance Racing gives more efficiency in transmitting the power to the rear wheels.
Also in pure Pagani fashion, the BC features reworked aerodynamics and styling, allowing for a car that performs as great as it looks. With a lateral acceleration of 2 G and a bespoke Bosch electronic system and the 750 hp coming from its 6 litre twin turbo V12, the BC is the sort of object that pleases not only collectors, but also dedicated drivers.
