Significance

When the 599 GTB was unveiled to the public at the 2006 Geneva Motor Show, it was the first all-new Ferrari grand touring car in over 10 years and marked a significant shift in design for the brand. Penned by American designer Jason Castriota, the 599 GTB was shaped heavily with aerodynamics in mind, shirking many of the throwback design cues from the previous 550 Maranello and 575M. Featuring unique flying buttresses “sail panels'' that were on the side of the rear windows, creating downforce while negating the need for a rear wing on the car. Under the hood of the 599 GTB sits a variant of the F140 V12, originally designed for the Enzo hypercar, the F140 produces in excess of 100 horsepower/liter and makes an outstanding noise- with a bassy growl at idle those crescendos into a high pitch shriek as you approach the 8,400 rpm redline.

About this vehicle

This 599 GTB was first sold in Virginia and currently shows 16,046 miles. Finished in Nero Daytona Metalizzato over Black leather, it was configured with nearly $60,000 in factory options and remains in very good condition throughout. The car includes two sets of wheels—shown are the optional 20" Monolitic Challenge wheels, which are in excellent condition and fitted with brand new Michelin Pilot Sport 4S tires. Also included is a set of 20/21" matte black CEC wheels that dramatically change the car’s stance. Behind the wheels sit $18,550 carbon ceramic brakes with red calipers, and Scuderia shields accent the fenders. Paint protection film covers the entire front end, helping preserve the finish over time. Inside, the cabin is finished entirely in black leather with contrasting white stitching and features power-adjustable Recaro-designed Daytona bucket seats. The interior also benefits from over $11,000 in carbon fiber options, most notably the carbon fiber LED shift light steering wheel, along with carbon trim on the dash and center console. Behind the seats, the luggage shelf is trimmed in black leather with white diamond-stitched quilting, and all previously sticky interior buttons have been professionally refinished. The Bose Hi-Fi system, factory navigation, and iPod integration complete the touring package. Power comes from a naturally aspirated 6.0L V12 making 612 hp and 448 lb-ft of torque, paired to Ferrari’s F1 SuperFast 6-speed automated gearbox. Capable of 0–60 mph in just 3.7 seconds and over 205 mph flat out, the 599 was the first V12 GT from Ferrari to utilize an aluminum chassis—offering a more rigid structure while also shaving weight versus the 575M. Suspension is managed by magnetorheological dampers, allowing real-time adaptation between comfort and performance modes. The 599 GTB marked a shift in Ferrari’s V12 lineage—bridging the gap between grand touring comfort and modern supercar capability. Offered with both wheel sets, an OEM Ferrari battery tender, and OEM Ferrari outdoor car cover, this example is exceptionally well-equipped and ready to be enjoyed or added to a collection.
